TONYA DAVIS

CEO / Founder

Tonya has been in management for a total of 16 years. She has been with Theater Of Hope since 2019. Tonya was the Assistant Director of It's A Wonder Life A Radio Play in 2021, and Tonya was the stage manager of A Princess And The Pea in the spring of 2022.  She then became the lighting designer and the projection designer in our first 2023 play The Wizard of Oz.  Tonya believes that all individuals deserve a place of belonging and feels that this program supports that belief. Tonya guides and supports all individuals in their relationships with God and each other. Outside of Theater Of Hope Tonya works as a Dental Coordinator/ Assistant for a Specialty office and loves to be with her family and rescue animals.

DON DAVIS

Board President / Director of Training and Education

Don Davis studied theater at NYU's TISCH School of the Arts and has been involved in theater for more than 36 years. At the age of 13, Don was cast as Young Scrooge in A Country Christmas Carol opposite his dad who was cast as Scrooge. This experience spurred a lifelong love for the theater. Don has acted in Macbeth, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Miracle on 34th Street, Guys and Dolls, Princess And The Pea, and Romeo and Juliet. He has also directed Miracle on 34th Street, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, A Wonderful Life A Live Radio Play, and A Christmas Carol A Live Radio Play. He has also served as Guild President for Onstage Theater in Bedford, Texas. Don has been with Theater Of Hope since 2019. Outside of the theater, he has been a certified Project Manager for the past 12 years. He has also served in churches as an Assistant Youth Minister and a Youth Minister

LAURA SCHWEIZER

Marketing Director / Finance Director

Laura joined the program in 2020 as the costume director and is now the Public Relations and Marketing Director. Laura has always had an interest in performing arts; including theater, acting, and singing. She has multiple years of experience in supervising roles as well as a thorough background in working with youth. Outside of Theater of Hope, Laura is an elementary teacher and a certified instructor in martial arts through the American Taekwondo Association. She has 13 years of experience working with children ages 4-17. Laura believes that theater gives adolescents the opportunity to express themselves freely without the fear of judgement. Her goal with Theater of Hope is to pass on her love of creativity and share to others her relationship with God

LAURI KRUMM

Lauri has appreciated live theater for many years , ever since she played in her high school orchestra for Anything Goes. Now, after more than 25 years of studying and teaching English and World Literature at the high school and college levels, she is living a retirement dream through her involvement in Theater Of Hope. Previous TOH participation includes sound operator for It's A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play, sound designer as well as playing the role of Osric in The Princess and the Pea, and Assistant Director for A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play. Lauri is also a "Mom" to Three grown kids and "Grammi" to eight rapidly growing children. She is also a certified personal trainer, teaching multiple classes each week at the Hurst Senior Activities Center. 

Leslie Vargas

Christian; wife to the love of her life, Ryan whom she's been married to over 20 years; mother of five amazing children whom she is honored and privileged to be the mother of. She is a major fan and supporter of the fine arts, as are her husband and children. She has been honored to be part of Theater of Hope since 2022
